Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer through Breath Analysis

ChemoPower Technology is happy to share about the collaboration and partnership with Singapore Gastrointestinal Cancer Consortium (SGiCC) to develop a non-invasive diagnosis method for gastric cancer through breath analysis. The SGiCC is a translational research group that comprised of clinicians and scientist working in gastrointestinal cancer research. The team aims to find solutions for important clinical questions while improving the care of gastric cancer patients.

This collaboration between the two companies will definitely make a huge leap for the finding of a new non-invasive diagnosis method for gastric cancer. Previously, SGiCC has identified a few essential volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from gastric cancer patients’ breath that can be potential biomarkers for early detection. Thus, for the confirmation of the presence of VOCs in the breath samples, it can be simply accomplished with our company’s software, SmartDalton and MoleculeDB. As the VOCs are mostly expected to be present in trace amount, through our precise peak deconvolution technology, even the trace-level components can be identified quickly and conveniently. Hence, accurate chemical profiling of the patients’ breath sample can thus be achieved easily.

In addition, we are very glad to be chosen for this meaningful project to assist in the identification of chemical components in breath samples of gastrointestinal cancer patients for the identification of potential biomarkers. We are also hopeful and looking forward to the success of this new diagnosis method to aid in safer and faster detection of the disease.
