ChemoPower Building the World’s Largest Molecule Database for Food and Herbs

For many centuries, the molecular information of natural herbs mostly remained unknown. And because of this, there is a huge gap between herbal medicines and pharmaceuticals. For pharmaceuticals, we know the contents of drugs very well, such as the active compound, the dosage, the side effects, and the allergens. The same cannot be said of natural herbs. Yet, there is so much medical potential in these herbs, especially now that more countries are focusing on natural herbs and more people are consuming them.

ChemoPower is striving to bridge this gap between medicinal herbs and pharmaceuticals. We will solve this problem in a systematic and fundamental way by analyzing all the medicinal herbs and build a database in a very short time, 100 times faster than anyone else can do. By analyzing thousands and thousands of different medicinal herbs, ChemoPower can get accurate insights about the medicinal effects of each and every one of them, from a scientific perspective. With that, we can narrow down the active ingredients that can be used to catalyze drug research.

Till date, ChemoPower has built a molecule database consisting of more than 300 various samples, ranging from food, fruits, herbs and biological samples, over a short period of just a few months.

In order the achieve this, ChemoPower uses its own propriety chemical analysis software (SmartDalton) and chemical database builder (MoleculeDB) that are developed in-house. We would also like to acknowledge the help from interns from National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic and Nee Ann Polytechnic.
